Rebellion and Denial

There are truths regarding God, man and this world, facts and structures of authority that cannot be undone, explained fully, ignored or violated without serious harm and consequence, as If, one slams their head against a rock. Solomon percieved, “All this I saw, as I applied my mind to everything done under the sun. There is a time when a man lords it over others to his own hurt.” (Ecclesiastes 8: 9).

“Since no one knows the future, who can tell someone else what is to come? As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.” (Ecclesiastes 8: 7-8). Worldly wisemen predict the future with models, assumptions, history, and rationalization all of which are nothing but guesses built on halftruths. The future is not dependent on the past. Yet, great credibility and trust is placed in these men and their machinations.

“When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.” (Ecclesiastes 8: 11). Injustice is an evil that plagues us all, except when we are the purpetrator, then we hope to get away ourselves. Some victims demand justice, but protest with unjust criminal acts against the innocent. We become ensnared by judgment, unforgiveness, and do the very things we condemn. (Rom 7: 19-23).

“…Then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it. So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God’s hands, but no one knows whether love or hate awaits them.” (Ecclesiastes 8: 17 – 9: 1). God is Sovereign and loving. His ways are good and altogether righteous. Yet, ignorant men attribute evil to God in their pride and twisted simple minds by rationalizing that God is like them.
The wicked do not fear God and the fool says, ‘There is no God.’ However, God says, “See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.” (Deuteronomy 32: 39).

Believers need not be concerned or flustered by all this, even by the wicked’s attempt to overthrow and usurp authority. Their destiny is certain, unless they repent as we have and God in His great mercy and grace opens their blinded eyes so they can see. The wicked attempt to predict the future. They try to control the wind. They think they can preserve life, prevent death and do justice, but wickedness holds them captive as they practice evil. The journalists who proclaim themselves the voice of truth have become full of deceipt and lies, because they reject God.

God is loving and just. He has shown His love and mercy to the wicked with great patience, but they have rejected His pardon. Those He sent to help, they wounded; the one He gave to bring salvation, they killed. Wrath awaits the enemies of God with every passing day it increases. However, grace and favor surround the people He has chosen as His own. They reflect His lovingkindness, they hear His voice and follow close behind their King Yeshua Messiah. He has become their salvation and glory.
