Does the Lord assign the Spirit where it is most effective to bring light and love into the unredeemed heart; to deliver His people from bondage; to thwart and destroy the works of the enemy. If so, is the Spirit scarce among those who are pursuing their own comfort and amusement? Where was the power of God conspicuous among the congregation of Believers? In the first Century there was much war in the Roman Empire. In American history revival came at times of great turmoil, after the Revolutionary war, before and during the Civil war, and during the Vietnam war. Its impossible to understand God’s purposes or assess the timing of His judgments.
We live in a time called the day of salvation and people are coming to faith in Yeshua all around the world. Even Muslims are coming to faith in Yeshua through supernatural revelations. All across Africa many nations have become Christian. South Korea has the largest Christian churches in the world. Some believe that China has multitudes of Believers in an underground church. Even though secularism is in the media spotlight and many liberal churches are losing members and closing their cathedrals, individuals are having life changing encounters with Yeshua and being born again by the Holy Spirit.
The humanist secular media will not report or record this Spiritual awakening as it is beyond their ability to understand. They consider Christianity a religion just like the other religions that distinguish various cultures. However, it is unique claiming a Jewish Messiah that was raised from the dead. Most Jews are still expecting their Messiah to return one day. Moreover, Christianity is recorded in the Bible which is the most widespread book through out history. Also, Christianity transcends culture, ethnicity, and nationality. It spans the globe, endured the cultural revolution, outlived the failed Soviet Communist experiment and flourishes in the third world.
Christianity is a supernatural faith that propagates by the functioning of the Holy Spirit’s sovereign act of opening blind eyes. “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:4-6) Believing in Yeshua as Messiah is not a logical rationale for the post-modernist to recognize as virtuous or coincides with their values. Faith in Yeshua is not a set of traditions handed down from earlier generations. Being born again is a Spiritual birth where by a person becomes a new creation imbibed with God’s Holy Spirit. This new life is supernatural in its conception, emergence, and transcendent existence. Yeshua said, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” (John 4:23) He is seeking you, will you open your heart and receive Him? He says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
