“We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.” (1 Timothy 1:8-11)
Here the Bible is explained, in part, as a tool for the righteous and a warning signal, wakeup call, conscience builder and sign post to the lawless, rebels, ungodly, murderers, sexually immoral, practicing homosexuals, slave traders, liars and whatever conduct is contrary to sound behavior. Many wicked people are reached while in prison with God’s law and His promise of forgiveness through Yeshua Messiah, (Hebrew for Jesus Christ). Today, some people suggest the Bible condones slavery, but clearly it doesn’t. Moreover, it is clearly against the practice of homosexuality, which is not a biological genetic disorder, but a mental one. For thousands of years these practices have been undisputed as wicked, but today we are told that some are acceptable, even normal. Lying and perjury is so common in the media and politics it is taken for granted and altogether ignored.
Keep in mind that the laws given in the Bible were not the invention of man. Humanist codes can’t be considered laws as they are subject to situations, interpretation and nonsense, like political correctness, identity politics, and so called “values” that are subject to each person’s whims. Evil people rail at anything which might restrain their wickedness. Believers are not the enforcers of God’s law – He is. Likewise, Believers do not judge others – God does. Every Believer was also caught up in some aspect or degree of wickedness, until learning of God’s coming wrath upon those who persist in evil. More importantly, we accepted His mercy and grace through belief in Yeshua Messiah, in whom there is freedom, forgiveness, and a new way of life.
Don’t waste your time hating followers of God, no one is perfect, but the law was given to lead us toward God, read the Bible and give heed to God’s message of love. If you don’t believe now, you will eventually, hopefully before its too late. “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear. (Isaiah 45:22-23)
