Eyes of Your Heart

Eye candy is sweet and pleasing like calm tones in melodious harmony. Lovely vistas of majestic beauty, God’s creation full of wonder amazing to ponder. I have been blessed to go to the top of the world, above the tree line where snow covered mountains span the horizon. Also, I have been to the bottom of the world, the Dead Sea, where you float on top of the water learning to push your feet down, just so, in order to stand again among the salt balls that look like snow or ice crystals clinging and creeping out of the water. “For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done. How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts!” (Psalms 92:4-5) These are fleeting sensations that become shadows remembered, spawning dreams, but there is fulfillment which brings satisfaction and it is in the person of Messiah Yeshua, (Jesus’ Hebrew name). In His presence there is peace beyond understanding, yet real. “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:15-17) Beyond the vision, behind the music, deeper than any story, more thrilling than any high pinnacle is God’s presence. “They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:10-11) Did it take angelic intervention to reset the vision of the risen Lord? When He returns it will not be as a lamb, but as the lion of Judah. His enemies will melt like wax before fervent heat. He will rule with an iron rod and justice will be restored on earth. Nevertheless, all people will desire His presence. The nations will come seeking the ruling Messiah. How much more honorable and blessed are those who have believed without seeing.
